Embroidery

Screen Printing
Method in which ink is applied directly to the surface to be printed (substrate). For each color to be printed a separate screen is prepared and the process is repeated.
       

TraditionalAppliqué
A practical way to add fun designs to a textile. Traditionally, pieces of material are attached with the needlework generally visible.


Distressed Appliqué
A unique cutting pattern made by a special fabric laser causing the material to "purposely" fray and fall apart.
 
       

Dye Sublimation Appliqué
A process that uses heat to transfer dye onto fabric. When the dyes bond with transparent fibers the color is vivid and the continuous tone produces clear images that may extend to the edge of the fabric.
 

Reverse Appliqué
A sewing craft in which an outline is cut from a top layer of fabric and the raw edges are turned under and stitched to expose one or more layers of fabric underneath.
 
       

Laser Etch
Digital Print
The inks used in digital printing are formulated specifically for each type of fiber (cotton, silk, polyester, nylon, etc). During the printing process, the fabric is fed through the printer using rollers and ink is applied to the surface in the form of thousands of tiny droplets. 
       

Heat Transfer
Also referred to as sublistatic printing, is the technique of printing fabric by transferring a printed design from paper to fabric by way of heat and pressure.

Dye Sublimation
Computer printing process that uses heat to transfer dye. The sublimation name was first applied because the dye was considered to make the transition between the solid and gas states without going through a liquid stage.
       

Pad Printing
A printing process that transfers a 2-D image onto fabric using an indirect offset printing process that involves an image being transferred via a silicone pad.
